About us

The spotlight, run properly

Ramp Radio is a live music platform in Montreal built around the artists this city hasn't heard yet.

The long version

What is Ramp Radio

Talent isn't the bottleneck in this city — reach is. Plenty of independent artists already have the songs. What they don't have is a stage, a crowd, and something to show for it afterwards.

So we run curated shows where emerging artists perform in front of a real audience, we film and photograph every set, and we sit them down for interviews people actually want to watch. The artist walks away with a bigger fanbase and content they own.

Our mission

Make sure a great song made in this city doesn't go unheard for want of a stage. Every decision we make — who gets booked, how the night is shot, where the footage goes afterwards — gets measured against one question: does this actually grow the artist's audience? If it doesn't, we don't do it.

We're not a venue and we're not a label. We're the part in between that most independent artists never get: a room that's already full, and a night that's documented properly enough to be worth something the morning after.

Our values

Three things we don't trade away — an artist trusting us with their music is the whole business.

Honesty

We tell artists the truth about what a show can and can't do for them. No inflated numbers, no promises about reach we can't back up, and a straight answer when the answer is no.

Authenticity

We book people we genuinely listen to. A Ramp Radio lineup is a real opinion about where the city's music is going.

Integrity

What we agree to is what happens. Artists keep the photos and video we shoot of them, get credited properly everywhere it runs, and are treated the same whether they bring ten people or two hundred.
